
THE DANISH TOWN PLANNING INSTITUTE
The Danish Town Planning Institute was established in 1921. The aim is to improve and
promote physical planning both in a Danish and in an international context. The Town Planning Institute attach great importance to
participating in a continuous debate about the quality of country, regional, municipal and
local planning. This is always done in a dialogue with researchers, practicioners, public
authorities and politicial decision-makers.
The highest authority of The Town Planning Institute is
an executive board with 11 members. It is advised by a committee of representatives with
about 60 persons representing a number of organisations and authorities with relation to
planning. Chairman of the executive board is Freddy Avnby.
The secretariat have 11 employees besides
external assistance on projects. Director Ole Damsgaard is responsible for the day to day
management.
