The Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology has a number of vacant positions as Assistant Professor in Architectural Design with a specific focus on the areas of technology, fabrication and structural systems. The position as Assistant Professor is a 3-year position affiliated to the Tectonics in Architecture research group. The group focus on complex multidisciplinary questions and projects, researching synergetic relations between architecture and engineering through a tectonics approach. The positions are placed at the intersections between architectural design, structural design, advanced technology driven fabrication and human design agency spanning from design thinking to technological integrative design methods. Moreover, the positions are inherently based on trans-disciplinary theoretical and applied fields, therefore, you have a background within either architecture or engineering. The key themes are tectonics oriented computational design, material studies and structural design processes. It is clearly an advantage if you have a strong design profile, as the work is oriented towards the design fields, but with a clear focus on engineering and technological dimensions.
